Why am I the woman to walk beside you through this

I know how deeply the fear of being seen can take hold of you.

I felt it long before I ever stepped onto a stage.

As a little girl, I wanted to sit in the back of the room. I rarely raised my hand because I was terrified of being called on, getting the answer wrong, or having everyone turn and look at me.

I learned early how to stay quiet, blend in, and keep what was inside of me hidden.

Even when I went to college to become a teacher, that pattern followed me.

During one of my teaching courses, we were assigned to record ourselves teaching a lesson to children. When my professors watched my video, they could not believe what they were seeing.

They told me they had no idea I had that kind of talent inside of me because I had never allowed them to see it.

Once they finally witnessed me teaching, everything shifted. I became the example they used to show others what powerful teaching could look like.

That became a pattern throughout my 23-year teaching career.

I could walk into a classroom and come completely alive.

I knew how to connect with my students, see their potential, and bring out the best in them. When my principals observed my teaching and saw the growth my students were making, they asked me to train other teachers.

My gifts were visible in the work.

But being personally seen was something entirely different.

Early in my teaching career, my students often chose me to participate in schoolwide assemblies because I was one of the teachers they felt deeply connected to. One day, they chose me to dance the Macarena in front of the entire school.

They knew the teacher who showed up fully for them every day.

What they did not know was how terrified I was of being watched by all the adults in that room.

My heart raced.

My body trembled.

The fear became so intense that I slipped out of the auditorium and hid in a janitor’s closet.

For a moment, hiding felt easier than allowing myself to be seen.

That was the contradiction I lived with for years.

I could be powerful when I was focused on serving someone else, yet the moment the attention turned directly toward me, fear told me to disappear.

The mission was always inside of me.

The gifts were always there.

I simply had not yet become the woman who felt safe enough to be fully seen carrying them.

Years later, as I began building my own soul-led business, a truth landed in me that changed the direction of my life:

Your mission is greater than your fear.

That truth did not make the fear disappear.

It meant I stopped allowing fear to make my decisions.

The next time I stood behind a curtain, preparing to walk onto a main stage and deliver a keynote, the fear was still there.

The trembling was still there.

The head trash was still there.

But this time, I did not run.

I prayed.

I breathed.

I regulated my body.

I connected to the women waiting on the other side of that curtain and remembered why I had been called to speak.

I let my faith become louder than my fear.

I let my mission become bigger than the part of me that still wanted to hide.

Then I walked onto that stage dancing.

Fully alive.
Deeply embodied.
Completely myself.

The microphone literally sparked as I stepped onto the stage.

In that moment, I was no longer simply speaking the message.

I had become the message. 

That talk, Ignite Your Spark and Magnify Your Impact, became a defining moment in my speaking journey and led to me being chosen as Extraordinary Speaker of the Year by a worldwide women’s organization.

 Today, I bring 23 years of experience as an educator, years of speaking and coaching, and nearly two decades of nervous system, somatic, energetic, and embodiment work into the spaces I lead.

But my deepest qualification is not the stage, the training, or the number of years I have spent teaching.

It is that I know what it feels like to carry something powerful inside of you and still be afraid to let the world see it.

I know the journey from hiding your gifts to trusting them.

From trembling behind the curtain to walking onto the stage fully embodied.

From knowing you are called to becoming the woman who has the capacity to hold that calling.

I did not become someone without fear.

I became a woman whose mission, faith, and devotion became stronger than the fear.
