I used to hide in a janitor's closet to avoid being seen dancing in front of my school.
At the beginning of my 23 year teaching career, I loved being in the classroom.
I loved my students, and I was fortunate to be one of the teachers they connected with deeply. I was expressive, playful, passionate, and completely myself with them.
That connection also meant they were always calling my name during schoolwide assemblies and asking me to come to the front.
They had no idea how terrifying that was for me.
I had become very good at hiding my fear of large crowds. I did not want my students to see me trembling, but I was especially afraid of my fellow teachers and peers seeing just how nervous I really was.
One day, the students were asked which teacher they wanted to join them for the Macarena.
I knew they were going to call my name.
My heart raced. My body trembled. I was so afraid everyone would see through me that I quietly slipped out of the assembly and hid in the janitor’s closet to avoid having to dance in front of the entire school.
Years later, a few years into building my own soul-led business, a clear message came to me:
Your mission must become greater than your fear.
It felt less like a phrase I had created and more like a truth I was being asked to live.
I knew I was here to help women trust what was moving through them, use their voices, and create meaningful impact.
But I also knew I could not ask other women to be fully seen while continuing to let fear decide how visible I was willing to become.
That mantra became an anchor for me.
It did not mean the fear disappeared.
It meant I stopped allowing fear to lead.
Years later, I stood behind a curtain preparing to walk onto a main stage and deliver a keynote.
I had a powerful vision for that talk. I felt it in my soul long before I ever stepped onto the stage.
I could see the experience.
I could feel the women in the room.
I knew how I wanted them to connect with their own light and recognize the impact they were here to make.
But knowing something in your soul and getting your mind to fully trust it can be two very different things.
Right up until the moment I walked out, the fear and head trash were still there.
In that final moment, I had a choice.
Trust.
Surrender.
Let something greater than me move through me.
So I prayed.
I breathed.
I regulated my nervous system.
And I allowed my faith to become stronger than my fear.
Then I stepped onto that stage.
The young teacher who once hid in a janitor’s closet to avoid dancing in front of her entire school was now dancing onto a main stage, fully alive, fully expressed, and completely connected to the room.
What was meant to be a 30 second entrance became more than a minute of pure, electric freedom moving through my body.
And the microphone I carried literally sparked as I walked onto the stage, almost as if it were reflecting the electrifying energy moving through my body.
The title of the talk was Ignite Your Spark and Magnify Your Impact, and in that moment, I was not just speaking the message.
I was embodying it.
That moment showed me what becomes possible when your faith becomes stronger than your fear.
You access another level of yourself.
A deeper level of freedom.
A greater capacity to receive.
A fuller expression of the abundance, power, and purpose already living inside you.

Today, I bring 23 years as an educator, two decades of somatic and embodiment work, years of speaking experience, and awards I never imagined receiving when I was the young teacher trembling behind the scenes.

It was becoming the woman who could fully embody her message.
I allowed my identity to catch up to the mission my soul had already chosen.
And now, I help other women do the same.
To move beyond the fear of being seen.
To embody the medicine in their message.
To become the speakers who can walk into a room, activate the people in front of them, and create lasting impact.
